Counselling for depression

When feeling low
doesn’t seem to lift.

One-to-one online counselling can offer a private place to talk about persistent low mood, loss of interest and the ways these experiences are affecting daily life. Sessions with Sobia Kiran are available by audio or video.

Understanding low mood

Depression is more than
a difficult day.

Everyone can feel sad or low at times. Depression involves a low or irritable mood, or a loss of interest and pleasure, that continues and affects everyday life.

These experiences can have different causes and patterns. A qualified professional can assess what you are going through rather than relying on a symptom list or self-diagnosis.

How counselling may help

Understand what you feel
and take manageable steps.

Counselling is one possible part of support for depression. The approach should reflect your experiences, goals, level of need and any other care you may require.

01

Understand patterns

Explore connections between mood, thoughts, behaviour, relationships and the situations affecting your life.

02

Reconnect gradually

Identify small, realistic ways to reconnect with meaningful activities, routines, relationships and sources of support.

03

Develop new responses

Depending on your needs, sessions may draw on CBT, mindfulness and practical problem-solving approaches.

Choosing appropriate care

Counselling may be
one part of support.

This page provides general information and is not a diagnosis. Depending on the severity and pattern of symptoms, depression may require assessment by a doctor or psychiatrist, prescribed medicine, specialist mental-health care, or a combination of support.

A psychologist can discuss whether counselling through Sukh appears appropriate and may recommend another service or professional when needed.

Urgent support

Do not wait for a Sukh appointment in an emergency.

If you are thinking about suicide or self-harm, feel unable to keep yourself safe, or someone else may be in immediate danger, contact your local emergency services or go to the nearest emergency department now. Tell a trusted person who can stay with you if possible.

Sukh is not an emergency or crisis service, and the registration form is not monitored for urgent help.

For non-urgent support
